Customer's Efficiency Should Save Them Money

The North Carolina Utilities Commission is currently making rules to determine how you pay for efficiency. Utility companies are pushing for the ability to charge consumers exorbitant rates for energy that they don't use. We don't think that's fair. Sign this petition to the North Carolina  Utilities Commission asking them to adopt fair rules for consumers.

Dear Commissioners,

As members of the rate-paying public, we appreciate the difficulty of your current task:  to balance the interests of consumers, utility companies, and the environment during the rule-making for the renewable energy and efficiency bill. 

We urge you to enact specific rules that promote fairness and protect consumers' interests, specifically with regards to energy efficiency. Since efficiency requires action, planning, and conserving by consumers, customers should reap the majority of the economic benefits.

Without clear rules, consumers could be subject to excessive charges for energy that they do not use.
